Scott Davis


Scott has designed lighting for over 500 shows since starting in the entertainment industry. Theatre shows include Pippin, Grease, Gigi, Naughty Marietta, Waiting for Godot, Hamlet, The Grapes of Wrath, Pantomime, Fences, A Raisin in the Sun, A Kwanza Song, Celebrations, The Importance of Being Earnest, Twelfth Night, and the World Premiere of A Piece of my Heart. Scott toured for years doing jobs all the way from Vari Lite Tech to Production Designer. The concerts and touring shows either designed for or toured with  include Marillion, Lou Rawls, Jeffry Osbourne, WAR, Cameo, Pat Green, Journey, Big Daddy Weave, World Wrestling Federation Tour, Lysistrata Tour, Singing in the Rain Tour, Dr. Oz’s Real Age Tour, Sylvia Brown’s If You Could See What I See Tour, Hay House Publishing’s I Can Do It Tour, and Kirk Franklin with Yolanda Adams tour. Scott’s had the pleasure of working with some of the greatest companies in the US including Cleveland Playhouse, The Ohio Ballet, E.J. Thomas Hall, Richfield Coliseum, Carousel Dinner Theatre, The Kenley Players, Cain Park, Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival, Virginia Stage Company, Virginia Opera, Virginia Summer Musicals, Dallas Theater Center, Media Theatre, Newgate Theatre, Trinity Repertory Theatre, ART at Harvard University, The Sandra Feinstein Gamm Theatre, The Providence Black Repertory Theatre, AART, and  The Black Academy for Arts and Letters. Scott attended the University of Akron and finished his degree in Theatre Arts at Trinity University. During the 90’s Scott took some time away from theatre to serve his country in the U.S. Navy.  He has since become a member of the American Legion and has held several local and district offices. He is the Resident Lighting Designer for the Uptown Theatre in Grand Prairie as well as the Resident Lighting Designer for the North Texas based Column Awards. Along with all his work with Davis Lighting Designs Scott has sat as the board president for the Runway Theatre in Grapevine, Texas since 2014.
